You are welcome to visit our workshop, stay in our guestroom, and learn to weave. We’ll prepare the loom for you so that you can concentrate on weaving.

Weaving is a slow process that requires a lot of patience and an understanding of how structures work. This 3-day workshop offers you a quicker way. Your instructor will help you in choosing the right material, colors, and pattern and warp the loom ready for you. All you need to do is the fun part, weaving itself. After you reach a certain flow of repeating the pattern, you will start feeling calm and happy.
Your instructor is called Riitta Kiukas. She is a travel professional who decided to learn new skills during the pandemia and started a 2-year education to become a professional weaving expert. After 2 months of training, she realized this was her way of using “rational creativity”.
The country home is located in Tervakoski, 70km north of Helsinki. You can get there by local train. We can pick you up from Riihimäki or Turenki.
